Turn it off is the message for this hour. Turn off the movies, television shows, and pornography glorifying immorality. No, sin is not rated in terms of X, R, PG-13, PG, and G.
The standard is still the same; “whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.” Philippians 4:8.
If you find yourself like me watching National Geographic one moment and a man and a woman in bed the next, turn it off is the message for you and me. It is time to turn off the soap commercials unashamedly showing nude women in the shower.
It is time to walk away from the magazines displaying naked and half-naked women on the front cover. I’ve found that there is life outside of hellovision and lust.
It is time for us to stop praying to God for victory in this area, and continuing to tempt ourselves to sin. We are weak, erring, sinful human beings, and I know for sure if I let Bathsheba bathe in front of me, I will fall in sin like David.
Let this be our prayer, “Though I like this sin, help me to hate evil for I made a covenant with my eyes; why then should I think upon a maid? How then can I do this great wickedness, and sin against you? Lord, help me to set no wicked thing before my eyes.” Proverbs 8:13; Job 31:1; Genesis 39:9; Psalm 101:3.
